Stress does not stay in your head: you feel it in your neck, shoulders and back. We do not treat stress; we look after the body that carries it. At Centro Quiropráctico Puig in Estepona we assess how your spine moves and where tension builds up, then suggest gentle adjustments and simple habits for your day.
How stress shows up in the body
When life runs at full speed for weeks, the muscles that hold up your head and shoulders never switch off. Many people describe it as a stiff neck when turning, heavy shoulders or a clenched jaw by the end of the day. It is not a diagnosis: it is a sign of a body that has been under tension for a while and is worth checking calmly.
What we do in the clinic
On your first visit Dr. Puig goes through your history and routine with you, looks at your posture and assesses how your spine moves, with particular attention to the neck and upper back. Before doing anything he explains what he has found and what he suggests. If appropriate, he uses specific adjustments or low-force techniques such as SOT or Activator Method, with no click or manual thrust.
A plan at your pace
At first, visits are a little closer together so we can see how your body responds; later they are spaced out. We add simple habits you can use at home or at work: movement breaks, screen and chair set-up, breathing and staying active. We review the plan with you at each phase.
Alongside other professionals
Chiropractic care does not replace medical or psychological care. If stress is affecting your sleep, your mood or your general health, please also speak to your GP or a psychologist. Our work focuses on the spine and posture and can complement that support.
Our care approach
At Centro Quiropráctico Puig we organise care in three phases, which we review with you as you respond:
- 1 Initial phase: The first few weeks, with sessions closer together while we see how your body responds to the adjustment. At the end of this phase we review with you how you are feeling and decide the next steps together.
- 2 Stabilisation phase: Sessions become more spaced out. We keep working on mobility and posture and give you simple advice for everyday life: breaks, movement and your workstation.
- 3 Maintenance phase: Periodic visits, if you choose, to check your spine and keep up what we have worked on. We agree the frequency based on your activity and preferences.

Frequently asked questions
A chiropractor does not treat stress, but can assess and look after the tension that stress leaves in your spine, neck and shoulders. At Centro Quiropráctico Puig in Estepona we combine adjustments tailored to each person with simple posture and movement advice for your day. If stress is affecting your mood or your rest, please mention it to your GP as well.
It lasts 45 to 60 minutes: we talk about your history and routine, assess posture and mobility, explain what we have found and, if appropriate, carry out the first adjustment. Follow-up visits are shorter, 15 to 30 minutes. If you prefer an adjustment without the click, Dr. Puig can use low-force techniques such as SOT or Activator Method.
We decide that together after the first assessment. Usually visits are a little closer together for a few weeks and then spaced out depending on how you respond. We review the plan at each phase and adapt it to your pace and preferences.
